Gain appreciation and understanding of other cultures. 407 million people speak Spanish. 130 million people speak French. French is the official language of the Olympics and the United Nations. Spanish is the second most spoken language in the USA. World Citizen

Why study a world language? Take a field trip to Le Central French restaurant. Enjoy authentic experiences with cultural “Food Days”! Learn about cultural celebrations, such as the Day of the Dead, Posadas, Cinco de Mayo, Mardi Gras, Bastille Day. Appreciate authentic cultural music and films. Cultural Celebrations

5 College Requirements Why study a world language?
CU Boulder, among other four year colleges, requires three years of the same high school world language. CSU in Fort Collins requires two years. Most East Coast universities require four years. Enhances your chances for entrance into Ivy League school. College Requirements

Studies have shown that studying a world language improves test scores in all areas.
