2. Physical Geography of East/Southeast Asia The Great Wall of China was created to keep invaders from Magnolia. This attributed to the isolation of China and made it is a trade barrier. The Himalayan Mountains, deserts, and the Pacific Ocean are some physical features that contributed to China’s isolation. Terraced farming allows unproductive land to be used for farming such as growing crops on hills. Because of the Ring of Fire, Japan and other countries have adapted to their environment. In Japan, there are skyscrapers that are built on gyroscopes, strict building codes, and tries to spread awareness of the danger by practicing drills.

3. Human-Environment Interaction Problems in E/SE Asia: Lack of Arable land and Tectonic activity Adapting to the environmental problems: Lack of Arable Land- Terraced Farming is a method used to modify to the lack of arable land. Tectonic Activity- Spreading awareness of the danger of the active tectonic activities such as practicing evacuation skills and how to set up emergency kits. Both of these interactions would work in either developing or developed areas because spreading awareness and terraced farming doesn’t apply to whether or not the nation is developed or developing. The moving plates around East/ South Asia cause a lot of tectonic activity which affects the infrastructure and people. Terraced farming is common in East/Southeast Asia because of the lack of arable land.

4. Population Countries like Singapore deal with the negative effects of a graying population everyday. One attempt Japan has made to increase their population is to encourage marriage and provide tips on dating. A negative effect of a graying population is that the country will not have enough people to work and provide for the nation. One negative effect of overpopulation is that there is not enough resources for the number of citizens in the country.

5. Religion The three major religions in E/SE Asia are Buddhism, Confucianism, and Shinto. Locations and major beliefs: Buddhism-China (Try to achieve Nirvana. In order to achieve this you must understand the Four Noble Truths and practice the Eightfold Path.) 6. Communism 1917-Communist leaders create the Soviet Union after Russian Revolution 1949-Communist party takes control and Chinese civil war ends 1975-Vietnam is defeated and turned into a communist party The spread of communism affected the people of the region by limiting their freedoms and made them secluded to the world. It allowed the government to have all control of the region and the economy to suffer due to a selfish government. Symbolic for communism

7. Economics If a country experiences lack of resources they can trade with other countries in ways such as the JAKOTA triangle. If you have a physical barrier like the Great Wall of China you can adapt to the barrier through using modernization and infrastructure such as planes and trains to travel. Two factors that aid economic development are the JAKOTA triangle and other forms of trade alliances such as the U.S. has with many East/ Southeast nations.
