Review When expressing wants and intentions we use would like to and want to. Ex. I would like to learn how to cook. (I want to learn how to cook.) When asking about someone’s wants and intentions we use would you like to or do you want to. Ex. Would you like to learn how to swim? (Do you want to learn how to swim?) It is always good to give a reason why you want to do something or do not want to do something. I would like to learn tai chi because I like martial arts. I don’t want to learn how to bowl because it looks boring. Other expressions: These express a strong desire to do (or not do) something. I’d really like to do (try) something. I’d love to do (try) something. I really wouldn’t like to do something. I really don’t want to do (try) something.
