Autocratic Leadership style characterized by individual control over all decisions and limited input form group members Beneficial in stressful job situations to increase task efficiency Leads to resentment towards leader, lack of contribution, and groupthink

Democratic Group leadership model in which members participate in and vote on ideas Benefits Members encouraged to share ideas/opinions Members feel more engaged Creativity encouraged Downsides Can lead to communication failures and missed deadlines when rolls are not well defined, or time is short Works best when members are skilled and eager to share their knowledge Example Dwight D. Lassiez-Faire Authority and power is given to subordinates Leaders of this style believe that people excel when they are left alone to manage their own responsibilities and obligations

Narcissistic Have a grandiose belief system and leadership style that is generally motivated by their needs for power and admiration rather than empathetic concern for the constituents and institutions they lead

Toxic Leadership Leaders are destructive to their own organizations, exist only with followers whose fears and desires they exploit. Make promises no one could keep Common in military situations
