WKMS School Counseling & Advisement Mission The mission of the WKMS School Counseling and Advisement program is to provide a comprehensive, developmental school counseling program that allows the opportunity for all students to become productive and successful 21st century learners in the academic, personal/social, and career domains through efforts of home, school, and community.

Program Goals Learning to Learn : To close the achievement gap in math from fall 2012 to spring 2013 by increasing MAP scores by 7 points for students who are at a specific NWEA performance range. Learning to Live : To decrease discipline referrals by 5% from the 2011- 2012 school year to 2012-2013 school year for a targeted group of seventh grade students who display traits similar to a diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Learning to Work : To increase students’ understanding of “middle skill” jobs by 10% as evidenced by pre and post test data for each career activity conducted in the 2012-2013 school year.
