The scope of this project is to design a portal prototype using Health Sciences 20 (or Environmental Science 20) using materials that have already been collected and stored on a Google drive. The project will likely require some or all of the following: · an assessment of the new curriculum (outcomes and indicators) for the target course, current resources; · correlation of instructional materials, assessment strategies, and outcomes and indicators; · the development of standard templates, standard filenames, standard file hierarchies; · recommended workflow (establishment of procedures for users, administrators, and other possible stakeholders); · an assessment/selection of suitable platforms (technology); · recommendations regarding sustainability (i.e., necessary resources to maintain or extend the pilot/portal). MOU of January 28, 2015

Needs Assessment Report ○Need ○Client ○Primary Goal ○Secondary Goal ** Client Wants & Needs were also taken into consideration and included in chart format

Learner Analysis ○Target Audience ○Motivation and Interest ○Anxiety ○*Please refer to Appendix A for a more detailed learner analysis

Interference Factors Some of the Interference Factors taken into consideration include: ○Availability of a Viable Platform ○Time constraint ○Google Drive ○Social Networking

Factors Contributing to Success ○ Background knowledge: Teachers currently have experience using resource portals with login procedures and passwords ○ Social networking sites: Many teachers have used these sites and are familiar with navigation procedures

Pre-Survey ●Survey - with Question Rationale ●Appendix E - Pre-Survey ●Question influenced by: “The strongest predictors of behavioral intention to use the portal are attitude...and perceived usefulness” [1] “The more positive teachers’ attitudes towards the portal and the higher their perceptions of control; the more likely they will upload information.” [2]

Usability Testing ●Script o Introduction o Debrief ●Task list ●Observation Comment Sheet http://www.gemeentemuseum.nl/files/Museum/Sfeerbeelden/ usabilitytestdsc_14461.jpg

Feedback Form ●User comments/suggestions/feedback ●Users likes/dislikes ●Problems for the user ●Would they use it

Software ●Morae by Techsmith ●User Testing ●Camtasia by Techsmith ●Bb Flashback

Bonus Deliverables ●Copyright Documentation ●Interim Recommendations http://7stepselfpublishingformula.com/members/wp- content/uploads/2013/09/bonus_icon_big.png

Copyright Report Fair Dealing Overview: ○Act now “technologically-neutral” ○Copyright materials may be displayed in class ○User-generated ○Noncommercial http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Question_copyright.png

New Exception Internet Material Guidelines : Citation No digital locks circumvented Used in best public interest Student use https://www.flickr.com/photos/87913776@N00/512 9607997/

Cinematographic Works ○Instructors may perform live materials ○Show works in class without the need for a public performance licence

Posting Material Online Fair Dealing Guidelines: ○Research ○Private study ○Education Citation

Posting Online, continued ○Provide links if using an open website ○May reproduce any legitimately posted works ○Respect any digital locks ○Respect any copyright symbols, “Terms of Use” or “Legal Notices”

Bill C-11 Copyright Changes Applicable to Education ○Free web services can be shown in the classroom as long as they are not copyright (ie. Netflix) ○Recording and transmissions of content for the purposes of distance education

Interim Recommendation A searchable Google Drive? ●“Tag” file names ●Interview HP2 HP2a HP2c.docx http://icons.iconarchive.com/icons/marcus-roberto/google-play/512/Google- Drive-icon.png

Conclusion ●Addresses needs ●Includes wants ●Limitations: o tag search vs document search o social functions
