7. Undocumented Parents Student should complete the FAFSA exactly the same as all students and when asked for the parents’ Social Security Number they put: 000-00-0000 (all zeroes)

Foster Youth The Education Training Voucher (ETV) is not counted as untaxed income on the FAFSA ETV is not counted as estimated financial aid in the award There are schools in Michigan that provide tuition assistance for foster care alums, as well as personal and academic support Be sure they apply for TIP!!!!!

10. Unaccompanied Homeless Youth - UHY Know who your district’s McKinney-Vento Homeless Liaison is Be sure the student has documentation of the status Help to provide the documentation to the college A call to the financial aid office is a good idea UHY status has to be determined each year Students who meet the UHY definition ARE independent!!! Help the student identify the Single Point of Contact (SPOC)
