1. 1 4th Grade OBX Field Trip Wright Brothers Museum Jockey’s Ridge Festival Park April 29, 2015

2. 2 We will leave TPE on Wednesday morning at 6:00am! Students need to be in the cafeteria at 5:30 am!! Arrive at the Wright Brothers Memorial at 9:30am Leave Manteo, NC at 4:30 pm Arrive back at TPE 7:30pm-please be in the parking lot waiting for your child. Departure & Arrival

3. 3 Parking Parents who are chaperoning the field trip should park in the side parking lot (to the right of the school)

4. 4 Following the Bus Parents are NOT permitted to follow the bus and meet us in the Outer Banks. Only parents who have paid to ride the charter bus and have been cleared to chaperone the field trip will be permitted to attend.

5. 5 Portable Electronics Students are permitted to bring portable electronics on the bus. All music must be G rated! Students are responsible for keeping up with what they bring. Teachers and the school are NOT responsible for any lost, stolen or broken items.

6. 6 Movies The bus is equipped with TV’s and a DVD player. Students may bring along a movie to share. All movies must be rated G! Movies can not be Disney (copyright policy from Disney)

7. 7 Chaperones We are thrilled to have many parents joining us as chaperones for our trip. You will be given a small group of students you will be responsible for once we get off the bus at the museum. You will be provided with emergency information for each student in your group.

8. 8 Food Your child may purchase breakfast from the school cafeteria or you may pack something for your child to eat (Pop Tarts, Breakfast Bar, etc.) Your child NEEDS to bring snacks & bottled water for the bus ride to and from the OBX. We will eat lunch at Jockey’s Ridge. Your child may purchase a snack lunch from the school cafeteria or you may pack a lunch. Dinner at McDonald’s is included in the cost of the trip for students.

9. 9 What to wear? Be sure your child is dressed in weather appropriate clothing! It may be very warm or it could be cold and windy; please keep your eye on the weather…a sweatshirt may be needed for the bus even if the weather is projected to be warm. Tennis shoes are the best footwear option! We will be walking all day. Flip flops and sandals should NOT be worn. It would be a good idea to put sunscreen and bug spray on your child prior to leaving home.

10. 10 Gift Shop The Wright Brothers Memorial and Festival Park both have a gift shop that we are sure your child will want to visit. If you would like for your child to make a purchase, please send cash for them to spend in an envelope with their name & how much money is enclosed.

11. 11 OBX Itinerary Students will arrive at TPE at 5:30 am Depart TPE at 6:00 am Breakfast on the bus at 7:00am (students will be able to purchase breakfast from the school cafeteria or they may bring something to eat for breakfast) Rest Stop on Hwy 64 near Plymouth, NC 7:30am Wright Brothers National Memorial 9:30am-11:30am http://www.nps.gov/wrbr/index.htm http://www.nps.gov/wrbr/index.htm Jockey’s Ridge 12:00pm-1:00pm (lunch will be eaten at Jockey’s Ridge) http://www.jockeysridgestatepark.com/ http://www.jockeysridgestatepark.com/ Roanoke Island Festival Park 1:30pm-4:00pm http://roanokeisland.com/http://roanokeisland.com/ McDonald’s in Manteo 4:30pm (students will eat on the bus) Return to TPE approximately 7:30pm
