Chemical Factors? Temperate Desert Biomes are characterized by mineralized soils with low organic content, these minerals embody themselves as salts when in contact with water cementing into layers of "calcrete". Physical Factors? Temperate Deserts represent the largest portion of barren and inhospitable land due to its lack of precipitation; an essential factor for life. As such, animal and plant life constitute low populations and have developed drought resistant characteristics and learning to cooperate with the high mineral contents. How does weather come into this?

Environmental damage and solutions. Despite being highly prone to human influence from soil disturbances, deserts remain untouched and unwanted by preponderant society. Lack of rich resources in desert regions opens up sentiments of neglect, yet the biome is thoroughly penetrated by environmental damage.
