2. Victoria Cross The Victoria Cross is rewarded with the Military decoration which is the highest rank in the British Empires Commonwealth. When being awarded for the Victoria Cross the person awarded had to been in face of the enemy, fighting for their country. Most people awarded had most conspicuous bravery some even daring to pre-eminent act of valour or to extreme devotion to duty in the presence of the enemy

3. The Victoria Cross Awarded Regiments Queen Victoria introduced the Victoria Cross on the 29 th of January in 1856. In acts of valour during the Crimean War. Since 1856 the Victoria Cross has been awarded 1,356 times to 1,353 different individuals. Their has only been 13 medals awarded, nine for the British Army and four to the Australian Army since the second world war. Lieutenant Raby was awarded the first Victoria Cross which was for the good deed of saving a 57 th Regiment who had both legs wounded and called out for help. Lieutenant Raby and two seamen ran straight for a distance of 70 yards, they ran across open ground, through heavy gunfire and succeeded in carrying the wounded man to safety. Beharry is a 25 year old British soldier who had saved his crew twice from ambush in Iraq. The first ambush was when he was suffering from a serious head wound. 4. Sacrifice Medal This Medal was to be awarded to the Military personnel also members of the allied forces or the Canadian civilians who work for the Canadian forces. It was to be awarded for the ones who suffered wounds or death cause by unthinkable hostile actions. Queen Elizabeth had approved the creation of the Sacrifice Medal

The Victory Medal was awarded when you did an act of bravery or to save a life The 1914 Star was awarded by British authorities to those who served with the British or Indian Expeditionary Force in France or Belgium between the outbreak of war in August 1914 and November 1914. British War Medal was given for those who fought in the first world war

6. Charles Hazlitt Upham Won his second Victoria Cross in May 1942, he was described as the most highly commonwealth soldier of the second world war. His first VC was in 1491 he left for Greece and withdrew to Crete and it was down there where he was wounded and awarded the cross for his bravery. He won his second in Egypt and was promoted captain. He then received a bar to his VC for his actions during the first battle of El Alamein
