11. 7. A servant is one who is willing to serve and sacrifice, willing to give up their way for the good of a greater agenda, God’s way.

12. When you do so, it makes for great discipleship and it makes for hard living.

13. 8. The servant of God will suffer various persecutions in like manner to our Lord. John 15:20

14. Part 3, “If they persecuted Me (and they have), they will also persecute you all.” [1 st class if = if and they will]

15. Persecute = DIOKO “To put to flight, to put pursue on someone”, and by implication “to persecute.”

16. It is first used for our Lord in the Aorist, Active, Indicative, 3rd P.P. – He was persecuted by Satan’s Cosmic System during His incarnation.

17. Then it’s used for the disciples in the Future, Active, Indicative, 3rd P.P. – We will be persecuted by Satan’s Cosmic System during the Church Age.

18. “The Lord who was personally persecuted on earth continued to be persecuted, even in His exaltation, in the person of His persecuted followers. Their being persecuted for His sake was a sign that they belonged to Him, as it was a token of coming judgment on their persecutors” (Bruce, p.313).

21. 1 Cor 4:12-13, “… when we are reviled, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure; when we are slandered, we try to conciliate; we have become as the scum of the world, the dregs of all things, even until now.”

22. Part 4, “If they kept My Word (Bible Doctrine) and they have, they will also keep yours (Bible Doctrine).” [1 st class if = if and they have]

23. Kept and Keep = TEREO - which means, “to watch over, to guard, continue or keep”.

24. It is first used in the Aorist, Active, Indicative, 3rd P.P. referring to converts from Satan’s Cosmic System during our Lord’s incarnation.

25. Its 2 nd usage is in the Future, Active, Indicative, 3rd P.P. referring to converts from Satan’s Cosmic System during the Church Age.

26. These positive believers, or those who hold to Divine Establishment principles, will not be antagonistic toward the believer.

27. John 15:20, “Remember My Word that I said (taught) to you all, if they persecuted Me (and they have), they will also persecute you all. The servant is not greater than his master, (the believer in comparison to the Lord Jesus Christ); If they persecuted Me (and they have), they will also persecute you all. If they kept My Word (Bible Doctrine) and they have, they will also keep yours.”
