Based on the texts that have been studied in this unit, how would you define the qualities that make up the nature of the “American” character? INTRODUCTION TO EXAMPLE/EVIDENCE: Which author from the unit most influenced this definition? EVIDENCE: Provide examples of evidence of the author’s influence on contemporary American culture and identity. ANALYSIS: What do these examples show/ reveal/ illustrate?
