3 How Do You Learn About Careers? Look at your interests Build on your strengths Ask your parents, friends or other relatives Ask your guidance counselor Use eChoices Attend the Career Academies summer camp

4 Or….Join a Career Academy Each Academy Focuses on a Career Field Each Academy includes specific courses to introduce you to the Career Area Most Academies begin in Grade 11

5 Some Basics All academies are CTE Completers - one of three paths to graduation College AND Careers Two Locations - ARL or each school

6 Career Academy Requirements Includes specific courses –Academy coursework completed in Grades 11 & 12 –Most Academies require a minimum of 4 credits Capstone Project or Worksite Experience

7 Career Academy Benefits Learn with other students with the same interests as you Be mentored by an expert in the field Have worksite experiences while still in high school Attend special student activities and field trips
