EBENEZER ESTHER MCHIGHANI A testimony of triumph in the midst of hardships and challenges.
2
I was born Esther Mchighani, last born in a family of three; one brother and a sister. Mom died after a very brief attack of malaria when I was eight. My only sister was sexually abused, developed depression and died a year later. My only brother developed a mental condition and he is insane to date. Dad could not take care of me and a distant aunt took me in and took me through primary school as I helped her with her animals-a herd’s girl. The aunt later abandoned me alone in the home with her herd of animals to fend for myself. A distant relative took me in and supported me through day high School struggling to pay school fees every term. God helped me to succeed to university to take communication and media studies.

One crisis after another, identity issues and not knowing God, I found myself in the family way. Overwhelmed, ashamed and desperate I did not know where or whom to run to. Dad died at this time leaving me no parent nor home. It was at this time I was introduced to Pastor Elisha of Mustard Christian Center, Kisii. I came to know Jesus through him, gave my life to Jesus and began to forgive and appreciate myself. I have learnt to walk with Christ as personal savior and fellowship with fellow Christians.

I did not commit suicide, did not try to abort but appreciated the small miracle that I carried. On 21/05/2014,my baby boy, Gift arrived…a handsome young man. Pastor dedicated him to God in the presence of the whole church I thank God for his faithfulness and unfailing love. Knowing the Lord and learning to trust in him has given me strength amidst challenges and moments of hopelessness.

I thank Pastor Elisha Odero Elisha Odero who adopted me, allowing me to be part the flock at a time many preachers would not have taken me in. Today I look to him as the dad God has given me. I thank the MCC family for spiritual, material and moral support. This is my family in all the world. You haven’t judged me but have received me unconditionally. Special thanks to brother Torfinn for prayers and financial support. God bless him. Am now through campus awaiting graduation on December this year and also trusting God for a job. Keep me in prayer.
