3 McGill University Library Information : Innovation : Service Ex Libris Users of North America  Original Aleph User’s group, NAAUG, started in 2000, 2 nd meeting was here at McGill. Then came SMUG..  ELUNA came into existence in 2005: one users’ group for all Ex Libris products A product working group for each product, concerned with enhancements, communication between users, product ‘track’ at the conference  Next year’s meeting: ELUNA + EndUsers (Endeavor Users’ Group) together

4 McGill University Library Information : Innovation : Service Ex Libris, LTD  Acquisition of Endeavor Aleph and Voyager are in use at over 3,000 sites worldwide Other products – across 1,500 sites  Robert Mercer: new President of Ex Libris North America  Increased customer base = commitment to more support staff, more R+D  Strategic Directions Discovery 2 Delivery Re-integration of the “back-end” - URM

41 McGill University Library Information : Innovation : Service What are we doing with it?  DigiTool lets us manage and deliver digital objects in a variety of formats in a variety of ways.  Some digital formats: images (gif, jpeg, jpeg2000, tif), video, audio, and multi-part files (METS, complex objects).  Some methods of access: HTTP, OAI, Z39.50, Web services (X-Server).  Concentrating on eScholarship  eScholarship has two components ePrints: McGill-authored research (articles, conference papers, monographs, etc.) eTheses: masters and doctoral theses
