Acrostic Poetry Prewriting Stage Georgia Performance Standard ELA4R1 The student demonstrates comprehension and shows evidence of a warranted and responsible explanation of a variety of literary and informational texts. i. Identifies rhyme and rhythm, repetition, similes, and sensory images in poems. PLO: Student will take notes on a graphic organizer and use it to write an acrostic poem. Prewriting and GPS and PLO

Poetry: Poetry is a form of writing that has rhythm. Poems do not always rhyme, and they are written in metrical verse. Prewriting: During prewriting, the author organizes his/her ideas.
