Biotic Factor Biotic factor is a living factor in an ecosystem. In this picture, a plant (limelight hydrangea) in my backyard represents a biotic factor.

Autotroph An autotroph is an organism capable of making its own food. In this picture a houseplant (corn plant) in my home represents an autotroph.

Producer A producer is an organism that gets its energy from nonliving resources, in this case the sun. Producers can make their own food. In this picture a tropical plant (mandevilla) in my backyard is a producer.
