4 Our High School program consists of…
9B (13-15 players) 9A (13-15 players) Sophomore Team (13-15 players) Junior Varsity (13-15 players) Varsity (13-15 players) *Approximately a 20 game schedule for all teams. (Playoffs for Varsity only) *We will initially place players on respective rosters based on formal evaluations, skill, present and past performance, and attitude. Players may be moved between levels based on performance and positional need during the season at the discretion of the coaching staff. Final team placements to start the season will occur during the 2nd week of practice. *Freshmen and Sophomores will only be pulled up to Varsity as a starter.

5 Represent our program well…
Grade are important – it’s the reason you are here! 6.8% of High School Baseball players move on to NCAA Baseball (Sept.2013 NCAA Methodology Figures) Last season our playoff rosters cumulative GPA was 3.3 You have bad grades and you will not play. Maintain eligibility = on course to graduate. You are a part of something bigger than yourself. Many are counting on you! “To whom much is given – much is expected”.

6 2016 Tryout Information Must be cleared through the Activities office PRIOR to tryouts starting. Updated Physical – Fee – MSHSL Document Fill out online Rebel Baseball Info Sheet Player will receive a tryout jersey first night of tryouts – you must wear each night. Baseball pants & Champlin Park Hat (Look like you’re ready for baseball) Freshmen Tryouts – 3/7 – 3/10 8pm -10pm (CP Fieldhouse) 10th – 12th Grade Tryouts – 3/21 – 3/24 7pm-9pm (CP Fieldhouse) Parents please drop off your son - Tryouts are closed to viewing.

7 Spring Break There will NOT be organized baseball over spring break.
9th grade tryouts will have already concluded. 9th grade will resume following spring break. Practice will be largely weight room and classroom time during 10th – 12th grade tryout week. 10th – 12th grade will not start until after spring break – per MSHSL official start date.

8 Getting better year round…
Playing another sport at CPHS is encouraged. Captains Practice (Starts January 10th 8-10pm – Will run most Sunday and Monday evenings) - Open to all players 9-12 supervised by Adults and organized/run by Captains and Seniors. Non CP Baseball affiliated baseball training - See our website for links to the various options- ”Player Development Tab” Champlin Park Weight Room ($60.00/Trimester) See Coach Davis for a weight lifting program regardless of where you’re working out! …Don’t rest on past success – you either get better or you get worse.

9 Summer Baseball… There is an option for everyone to play baseball in the summer. - 9th Grade Team often play 15’s (BPAA or CDAA) - Sophomore team – VFW - JV/Varsity – Legion ** (Roster size will be limited) Legion and VFW are run through CPBA Support local business that help Rebels Baseball! Hudy’s Lil Bar Willy McCoys *Whether you make the high school team or not you can find a place to play in the community.

10 To Do List and Due Dates:
1. Complete Champlin Park High School Baseball Info Sheet (Will be available online – Due: March 7th 2. Online Registration: * Complete MSHSL Participation Form ONLINE * Complete the Champlin Park Emergency Contact/Health Form ONLINE * Activity Fee Paid in Full (Fee can be paid online or by cash/check to the Activities Office.) 3. IF Needed: Schedule a Physical and have physician complete Form Due: ASAP (You will not be allowed to try out until you have a current physical) 4. Mandatory Player Meeting for all players Trying Out (9th-12th grade) March 2nd Lecture Hall during advisement 5. Mandatory Parent/Player Meeting for final rostered Players 9, B, JV, V Friday March 28rd – 7pm Auditorium

Board of Directors Board consist of: President The president will have a one year term. This term will expire on August 1. Only board members can become a candidate for the position of president. Minimum of 4 At-Large Board Members, one from each grade All At-Large Board Members will have a term until August 1 of the player’s graduation year. Multiple At-Large Board Members at a grade level will be accepted. Treasure The treasure will have a term until August 1 of player’s graduation year.
