4 What is cheese ? A food consisting of coagulated, compressed, and usually ripened curd of milk separated from the whey

6 The Beginning All started in 1919. 94 Vermont dairy farmers purchased the Cabot Village creamery. They had the idea to take their left over milk and make butter. Started under the name Rosedale.

7 The Transformation During the 1930’s people started moving to the cities. With this came the need to ship their products. Cabot soon started shipping milk to bottling companies. Also shipping cheese, butter and cottage cheese.

8 The Change By the 1980’s the number of total farms in Vermont dropped by 2,000. By then Cabot dropped the name Rosedale. In 1992 they merged with Agri-Mark Inc. Combining to total 1,500 farmer owners and four processing facilities. Since then Cabot has become extensive and world know and loved.
