Scientific Notation Used for very large or very small numbers, eliminates the need for writing a lot of zeroes. Example 7,532,000,000 is written as 7.532 10 9 Must have a number from 1 to 9 left of decimal, all remaining numbers are to the right. The exponent tells how many places the decimal is moved. Positive exponent means decimal was moved to the left, negative exponent decimal was moved to the right.
