Simulation A Tool in Teaching Science IVY CLAIRE V. MORDENO
2
(Physics Education Technology) Simulations - is a project of the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado, USA which is supported by the National Science Foundation and the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation
3
PhET provides fun, interactive, research-based simulations of physical phenomena for free! research-based PhET simulations animate what is invisible to the eye through the use of graphics and intuitive controls such as click-and-drag manipulation, sliders and radio buttons to help students visually comprehend concepts.
4
PhET simulations offer measurement instruments including rulers, stop- watches, voltmeters and thermometers to further encourage quantitative exploration. PhET simulations are extensively tested and evaluated to ensure educational effectiveness and usability.
5
PhET simulations are freely available from the PhET website and are easy to use and incorporate into the classroom.

Workshop Form a group of 3 members You’ll be given an activity sheet about greenhouse effect and you will answer it by groupactivity sheet Your group must designate a: - manager to organize the work and make certain everyone understands who is supposed to be doing what - recorder to prepare the final output - skeptic/checker to verify the answers for correctness and to ensure that everyone in the group understands the answers
9
Download the file Greenhouse Activity Sheet found in the PhET page of our wiki Answer the activity and embed it in our wiki You are just given 15 – 20 minutes to answer it and you are going to present to the whole group your output Apply Collaborative WorkCollaborative Work
