5. a)Find the mean, median and mode prices Mean Price: Step 1: Multiply each price by the total number of books at that price, then add the prices (8.99 x 3) + (9.99 x 5) + (13.99 x 5) + (32.99 x 1) + (37.99 x 1) = 217.85 Step 2 : Divide the total price by the total number of books to find the average price 217.85 ÷ 15 = 14.52 The mean (average) price per book is $14.52 Solution Young Adult Books Price ($) Number of Books $8.993 $9.995 $13.995 $32.991 $37.991

Therefore the median price will be the 8 th price in the order. Step 2: Find the 8 th price.
