THE PLAN Trip 1 February 2015 Training of Trainers in Neonatal Resuscitation Trip 2 Training of trainers in Post Resuscitation Care Trip 3 Assistance in maintaining on-going teaching program Trip 4 UoG instructors develop their own instructor training course/recertification courses

METHODOLOGY Instructor courses Instructors take the “learner” course (2d) Instructors learn how to teach the learner course (2d) Instructors teach their first learner course with US team (2d) Interim Instructors continue to teach learner courses independently Follow-up with US team by skype/follow-up visit Year 2 Instructors continue teaching at least 8 learner courses US team assists in developing instructor course/recertification course

TEACHING METHODOLOGY Most importantly HAVE FUN and get to know one another Join together for a common purpose Lecture with simultaneous practice Small group demonstration and skills practice Group “brain-storming” discussions Integrated skills practice Behavioral skills practice

EXPECTATIONS FOR PROVIDER COURSE Arrive on time and stay for the entire session Attend all 2 days For NRP provider certification Pass the written post test Pass the skills checklist Pass the integrated skills station
