“Unity Of The Faith” Ephesians 4:13
2
God uses all of us in the accomplishment of unity By that which He has provided: – We may grow or mature spiritually – We may help others to grow
3
Christ has given “gifts” to make His teaching available to all. Ephesians 4:12 Apostles and prophets — Endowed with the power of revelation Evangelists — Herald the good news of salvation Pastors & teachers — Lead and instruct the church
4
These teachers are given to enhance edification. For perfecting of the saints. Unto the work of service (ministering) Unto the building up of the body
5
The goal of this edification is spiritual maturity. Ephesians 4:13 Until we all attain to the unity of the faith Until we all attain to a perfect man Until we all attain to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ
6
Identifying marks of this spiritual maturity: Ephesians 4:14-16 Stability – v. 14 Ability to teach others – v. 15; Heb. 5:12 Christ-likeness – v. 13 Cooperation – v. 16
7
The agreement we make with God when we become Christians is that we will commit ourselves to learn the will of God and to teach others what we have learned. As we do this, we all grow to maturity and closer together; and the unity that God seeks is created.
