33 Historical Perspective October 2006 BCBS, in issuing Core Principles for Banking Supervision, acknowledged that a carefully designed system of deposit insurance can contribute to public confidence in the financial system 2007 IADI initiated drafting of Core Principles for Effective Deposit Insurance Systems June 2009 BCBS and IADI issued the final version of Core Principles December 2009 IADI, BCBS, EFDI and IMF established a Steering Committee for the development of a Methodology for Assessing Compliance with the Core Principles
