Homework Do a poster for a mosque to explain the 4th pillar of Islam: ZAKAT (duty to practice charity). Include answers to: 1.What does Zakat mean? 2.What do Muslims have to do? 3.How much do Muslims have to pay? 4.Why do Muslims pay Zakat? 5.Who does the Zakat money go to? Give 3 examples of how it is spent. 6.How is Zakat similar or different to what Christians do?

Ashadu an la ilaha illa illa-ilah, wa ashadu anna muhammadan rasuloollah. Reciting this statement three times in front of witnesses, with full understanding of what it means, is all that anyone needs to do to become a Muslim. You MUST believe what the Shahadah is saying to be a Muslim. "I testify that there is no god but Allah, and I testify that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.“ x3

When else do Muslim’s recite the Shahadah? "There is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is his messenger.“ Repeat it several times each day when they get up in the morning and go to bed at night, and several times during the day 1.Draw a life cycle from birth to death, 2.Match it to the labels show all the times a Muslim says Shahadah. During their life 3.Add in an extra arrow & label if someone converts into Islam. **Is just saying what you believe a good enough way to belong to a religion? Teach it to their children as soon as possible. When a baby is born the father will whisper it into the baby’s ear so that it is the first thing it hears. Muslims hope that they will be the last words that cross their lips before they die.
