8. When you have 2 sources by the same author, you must cite WHICH ONE of the 2 you are referring to. William Nance observes that “there are multiple ways for the characters to attain their identities” (“Loss of Identity in Capote’s Major Works” 34). The narrator states, “He preferred freedom with the pirates over bare escape from hanging” (Stevenson, Treasure Island 212). You don’t need to cite the article or title if you only have ONE by that author.
