1. Dordio Gomes The painter of the nature. Simão César Dordio Gomes was born in Arraiolos on the 26th of July 1890.

3. His life He studied in the School of Arts in Lisbon from twelve to twenty years old. In 1910 he was scolar in Paris. From 1911 to 1921 he lived in Arraiolos. From 1921 to 1926 he return to Paris and he was influenced by Cézanne. From 1926 to 1933 he came back to Arraiolos and he painted the paintings of the local museum. From 1933 to 1976 he lived in Porto and he worked as a teacher in the School of Arts till his death.

4. He tried to show the typical way of living in Alentejo through his paintings.
