3. Most people think that Germans only drink beer and eat sausages. Although beer is consumed a lot, even on peoples lunch hour, and Sausages are consumed, there is more to this Country. Family get together are big. Germans are very focused and also very in tune with conserving the planet. They recycle, use solar power, and keep their surroundings clean. Being “Green” is the normal and recycling as well as conserving energy is a must. Most of the following pictures are from my most recent trip to visit family in Germany. September 2015.

5. More Castles in Germany

6. There are many castles in Germany, some are ruins, some have been turned into museums, and some have people that live in them, take care of them, and allow the public to see some of it.

7. There are bakeries on every corner in Germany. Germans get fresh bread everyday, and usually Have cake and coffee in the afternoon. This is a black forest cake my Aunt made for my birthday.

8. Typical German breakfast consists of different Kinds of fresh bread, jams, meats, cheeses, and Some kind of eggs. This is usually repeated in the evening minus the eggs. Germans usually eat their hot heavy meal at lunch.

9. Germans eat a lot of pork. Schnitzel is a very common dish, it’s a thin pork cutlet breaded then fried. Sometimes it is smothered with gravy, it is then called jager schnitzel.

10. Most towns have their own beer brewery. And Germans do love their beer and beer Drinking festivities. Most people have heard Of Oktoberfest, which is a festival celebrating beer.

11. Pretzels and sausages are usually eaten while drinking beer.

12. Germany is a beautiful country with castles, mountains, green fields and huge forests as it’s scenery. Germans are very stoic and at times seem too serious, yet they are friendly and welcoming. The smell of fresh baked bread, pastries, and coffee can be smelled most anywhere you go. Old traditions and large get togethers while drinking beer happens often.
