Statistics children (6 -11 y/o): approximately 30.3% overweight
15.3% obese. adolescents ( y/o): 30.4% overweight 15.5% obese. Excess weight in childhood and adolescence predicts overweight in adults. Overweight children, (10 – 14 y/o), with at least one overweight or obese parent were reported to have a 79 percent likelihood of overweight persisting into adulthood.
