TitleJanuary 18, 2016 6 Today’s United Way United Way is in a unique position unlike any other organization We sit in the intersection between government, business, nonprofit agencies, community and faith based organizations Uniting everyone to work together on the important issues in the Mid-South Faith

TitleJanuary 18, 2016 8 Today’s United Way Education o Kindergarten Readiness Increasing parental involvement in day care and early education o Third Grade Reading The grade that is essential for reading; child learns to move from “learning to read” to “reading to learn” o College / Career Prepping high school students for next step

TitleJanuary 18, 2016 9 Today’s United Way Income o Family Sustaining Employment o Free tax preparation 2015 tax year, brought in $55 million in refunds to this community o This will be a primary focus for UWMS moving forward
