To analyse different types and styles of written word.

When written materials are created for digital media they are created for a specific purpose. This can be one of the following: To Educate To Inform To market products To Entertain To Persuade

Types of written word in digital media: Journalistic, e.g. e-newspaper and magazine articles, inverted pyramid, Investigative, entertainment, interviews, editorials Web content, e.g. welcome pages, blogs, booking guides Games content, e.g. rules of game, instructions, on-line text games Film, television and radio scripting, e.g. drama script, comedy script, news script, commercials script, continuity script.

There are different styles of writing. This is referred to as (Mode of Address): formal informal (colloquial) authoritative humorous personal, first, second, third person.

Different publications use different font styles. These are split into three groups: Type, e.g. modern, traditional, character, manuscript, formal Style, e.g. serif, sans serif, bold, italic, house style, colour, highlighted, drop shadow, 3D, themes Size. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qr00iUFpoKI

Page styles: orientation, e.g. portrait, landscape columns, e.g. single, double.

Go online and find examples of the following: Journalistic writing Informal (colloquial) writing Humorous writing Text in a Serif Font Text in a San Serif Font An online written piece with different sizes of font A text with a house style Example of portrait Example of landscape This needs to be created as a word document. There needs to be screen shots showing the different examples you have found. Each needs to have a heading. This needs to be posted on your blog. The title is Unit 14 Examples 31/09/2014
