IMLS Website Redesigned URL: https://www.imls.govhttps://www.imls.gov The new IMLS website was created using Drupal. A free and open source content management framework. IMLS conducted a user/stakeholder survey in December 2014 to inform the redesign of the IMLS website. Many meetings were held prior to the launch for staff suggestions and feedback on the new design. The website was launched on September 10, 2015. 3

PLS Search for Public Libraries Tool Search by: -Library name -FSCS ID -Street Address -City -State -Zip; distance -County -Phone Number Additional Characteristics: -Library Type https://harvester.census.gov/imlssearch/ 17

PLS Compare Public Libraries Tool This tool helps you assess your library needs and plans in context and in comparison with other libraries. The site allows you to create reports comparing one public library of interest to other public libraries. The navigation bar below the "Compare Public Libraries" banner highlights the step you are completing. Once a step is completed, you may click on it to return to that step. Future Direction: Search and Compare Tools The Search and Compare tools, hosted by Census, will be going offline the end of June 2016. IMLS is in discussion to develop new tools. How do you and your librarians use the tools? What kind of changes would you like to see? What functions do you find useful? 19
