Drinking Water Pollution Lab On the next slide you’ll see two pictures. Using your fingers, indicate which one has pollution in the water.

Can you always see pollution? Turn toward your learning partner and discuss if there’s a time when you can’t see pollution. Talk to your learning partner about a personal story when you came into contact with pollution. How did you know the pollution was there? What senses did you use (sight, sound, scent, touch, taste)?

Can you always smell pollution? No, you can’t always see or smell pollution. You will prove this in today’s lab. Turn to your learning partner and have a discussion of how you think scientists test for pollution in water and air.
