Comparative Civilizations 12 This course helps students to develop a basic understanding of cultural development by examining art & architecture from Ancient Egypt to Enlightenment Europe. The focus is on Europe with two non-European units studied: – Ancient Egypt – islamic Civilization

Comparative Civilizations 12 The course is taught by Mr. Benoy. Difficulty level is moderate. Work load depends on the mark desired: – Moderate to significant No provincial exam All Universities except UBC consider this mark. All exams are open- notebook, except image identification section.

Geography 12 This course is concerned with physical geography and its applications to man and his natural environment. Students study forces shaping the landscape, Climatology, Biogeography and map skills. Geology 12 is a complementary course.

Geography 12 The course is usually taught by Mrs. Hayter. Difficulty level is moderate. Work load is moderate to great. There is a provincial exam.

Geography 12 All universities consider the mark achieved in this course. Geography is a bridge course that spans the Arts and Sciences.

History 12 This course looks at the great developments of the 20th century and how they profoundly affected our current way of life. It focuses on the interaction between the Great Powers.

History 12 Mr. Benoy usually teaches this course. Difficulty level is moderate to high. The work load is significant. – Students must be strong readers and have good writing skills to succeed.

History 12 All universities consider the mark achieved in this course. Success in History 12 is a good predictor of post-secondary ability.

Law 12 This course provides an introduction to the Canadian legal system. Constitutional, Civil and Criminal Law are studied. This is the least academic of our grade 12 options.

Law 12 Mr. Gorrell and Mr. Nichols usually teach this course. Difficulty level is low to moderate. Most post-secondary institutions do not consider the mark granted in this course.
