Read We will discuss the first half of chapter 7 (pages 59-69). Remember to post quotes/page number/context next to thematic ideas for this class on the board if you see any in today’s reading. Also remember to note the page number on a quote card of any quote that could be useful in proving your topic for your essay. You will do your fifth quote card for HW #1 tonight – 5 are due tomorrow! Discussion Each group is assigned to one page of Chapter 7. Group 1 – 64 Group 3 – 65 Group 5 – 66 Group 2 – 67 Group 4 – 68 Group 6 – 69 As a group, look through your page and find ten examples of emotionally-charged diction. Then, post them on the board on either the Positive side or the Negative side of the board depending on what kind of word you think it is. Once everyone has posted, we shall discuss.
