3 2. This is the Spenserian sonnet about Fire and Ice. What does the image of “ice” represent? The woman’s indifference towards the man What does the image of “fire” represent? The man’s love towards the woman2.

4 3. Based on all of Shakespeare’s sonnets, what would you say his idea of love actually is? A positive connotation where true love exists across all borders

5 4. What part of the sonnet demonstrates the change or intensity of emotion in the poem? ie. The mood! The Turn

6 5. In terms of structure, what is the difference between the Shakespearean sonnet and a Spenserian sonnet? The Rhyme scheme of the Spenserian sonnets carry over into the next stanza. The Shakespearean sonnet rhyme scheme is isolated to each stanza.
