INTRODUCTIONS Name What your role is in the education process? Where you’re from? A favorite school memory…

MY PASSION My passion, or purpose, is to see students succeed. I love to see learners challenge themselves and reach their potential. I love the challenge of meeting kids where they are and frustrating them a bit. Pushing them to grow and learn. It hurts a bit – but the outcome is worth it! A lot like training an athlete. No pain, no gain! I like to stretch the brain! (Sorry – I’m not as good as Dr. Seuss!)

A Working Definition of Differentiation Differentiation has come to mean “consistently using a variety of instructional approaches to modify content, process, and/or products in response to learning readiness and interest of academically diverse students.” Tomlinson, Carol Ann. The Differentiated Classroom

Reasons for Differentiation One size definitely doesn’t fit all when it comes to teaching Universal lessons for an entire classroom of kids is the most efficient delivery system (unless one considers learning)

Time is a factor! Grading Meetings Teaching Recess Duty Report Cards Phone Calls Conferences Planning
