The /s/ sound- initial position
Brazilian Spakers often add an extra vowel sound before words ending with S. Ask your partner to say “School”. Did you hear eschool or school?

Is the “t” of cats voiced or voiceless? The “v” of love? Why is cause different?

Rule for plurals/ third person singular
/s/ If the sound before the “s” ending is voiceless /z/ If the sound before the “s” ending is voiced /IZ/ If the sound before the “s” is a sibilant

-ed Endings -ed Endings are often very difficult for Brazilians because sounds don’t change based upon the previous sound. There are three –ed ending sounds /t/ /d/ /Id/
