2. Project Topic Our project was titled Crocheting for Beginners. Its goal was to teach new and expectant mothers and their families how to crochet. In particular the focus of the items crocheted was for a baby’s layette. This topic was chosen as a result of inquiries from expectant mothers wanting to learn how to make a baby blanket as they observed Mina doing in the doctor’s office.

4. Course Design Our instruction was designed for the First Time Moms Group at Christ The King Lutheran Church. It stems more from an opportunity than a problem. Our course has 3 units with 2-3 lessons per unit. Our field test was conducted using the two lessons from unit two and a small group of learners similar to our target audience.

7. Field Test: Evaluations Lesson One: Pre- tests and post-tests showed 85% improvement in knowledge of crochet terms and abbreviations. Lesson Two: Pre- tests and post-tests on reading a crochet pattern and generating a product showed a 75% success rate.
