Common Terms PIN Number: Four-digit number used to get cash at ATMs and retail merchant locations where PIN debit transactions are accepted POS purchase: Point-of-sale, also referred to as retail purchase Debit purchase: Any purchase made by selecting “Debit” at the cash register and then using the keypad to enter your PIN Signature purchase: Any purchase made by selecting “Credit” at the cash register and then signing your name or choosing Visa to make a purchase online or by phone Surcharge-Free Allpoint ATMs: Surcharge-free ATMs save employees money because they do not charge a fee for using their machines, as other ATM owners may charge

Make purchases anywhere Visa debit cards are accepted For online or phone purchases, follow instructions provided At a retailer, swipe your card or hand it to the cashier to swipe Select “Credit” and sign your name on the merchant receipt, OR Select “Debit,” accept the total amount and enter your PIN when prompted Take your card and receipt Know your balance. How to Use: OTC Cash Withdrawal
Get your pay “to the penny” at 98,000 banks Look for a visible Visa acceptance mark (logo) at the bank Request a cash withdrawal or “advance” from a bank teller and specify an amount (up to the total card available balance) Provide your card and a government-issued photo ID Take your cash and receipt If the bank teller does not comply, report the bank teller’s name and bank location to FSV by calling the number on the back of your card.

How to Use: ChekToday ChekToday convenience checks are available as needed Why use convenience checks? When you need a check to: Pay bills Send money Get 100% of your pay from your card account How do you use them? At or by phone: Order checks, as needed (Upon request, set of 3 or 6 mailed to address on file) Authorize checks in the appropriate amounts before making payments Call customer service to: Void a check Stop payment on a check Report a check lost or stolen Funds are removed from the account when the check is authorized.

How to Use: USPS Money Orders
As the first transaction of the pay period, you can use your card to get one free money order at any U.S. Post Office location How does it work? Request a money order at a USPS location Fill out the money order form to specify the payee (individual or merchant) and the appropriate amount (up to $1,000) Accept the fee* Take your money order and receipt If sufficient cash is available at the Post Office, you may be allowed to cash a money order there * The USPS employee is unaware that your money order purchase is free if it is the first transaction of the pay period. You should accept charges when prompted, but you will not be charged.

Helpful Tips Use your free transactions
Find convenient Allpoint ATM terminals near you and use them whenever possible (See for locations) Save the toll-free customer service number in your cell phone Enroll in Text Alerts to keep track of your balance and avoid declines. Standard text messaging rates may apply depending on your cell phone rate plan. Open a savings account to earn interest Be aware of pre-authorization padding (to cover tips) at restaurants and other service providers Pay for your gas inside instead of at the pump to avoid holds of up to $125 on your funds Some rental car companies may require you to use a credit card for reservations but allow you to use your paycard for final payment
