Pure – καθαρός - kath-ar-os' - free from corrupt desire, free from sin and guilt; blameless, innocent; unstained with the guilt of anything Heart – καρδία - kar-dee'-ah - the center and seat of spiritual life

Romans 8:9-10 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

Matthew 15:16-18 “Are you still so dull?” Jesus asked them. “Don’t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them.

Psalm 24:3-4 Who may ascend the mountain of the L ORD ? Who may stand in his holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god.

To ascend the mountain of the L ORD or stand in his holy place is to see God. Only those with pure hearts have permission to do so.

Psalm 24:5 They will receive blessing from the L ORD and vindication from God their Savior.

Being pure in heart means we can have a good relationship with God Having a good relationship with God means He will vindicate and bless you That vindication and blessing ultimately means eternally life

Psalm 24:6 Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, God of Jacob.

To seek God is to “remain in the vine” To “remain in the vine” is to stay connected to God To have a pure heart as we stay connected to God means we are not trying to impress others but trying to grow closer to God
