3 ProcedureInteraction/skillAim/objective Tell the students to focus on the picture. Get into groups and list all the verbs they can see happening. 4 Examples of how to use the course book 1.Look for different ways to use the book Use the numbers by telling the students to turn to different pages. Example T: “Turn to page 20” Ss: Turn to page 20 T: “Turn to page 5” Ss: Turn to page 5 S:” Turn to page 3” Ss: Turn to page 3 Limit the number to 1---10 or 1---20 Pair work or group work

5 Example T “Find a green house” S1 “Page 10” T “ Find Sam flying a kite” S2 “Page 4” Example S3 “Find a picture of a school” S2 “Page 7” Tip:Restrict the pages they can use for the quiz so that they won’t spend too much time looking for the answers.

6 2.Make good use of the pictures Example T “There is a park and a pond” Ss “Old town” and they stand up (as it’s in their picture) T “There is a big factory” Ss “New town” and they stand up(as it is in their picture) Tips: You can include things that are not part of either picture.

8 3.Use the dialogue Example Teacher plays first part of the dialogue Students:Sam Teacher plays next part Students: Zoom Example Question group Answer group Teacher plays the dialogue with questions and answers, Both group listen carefully and do what they should do.

9 Example A dialogue may include 5 animals.Write names of the animals Or draw pictures. Place the pictures on the walls around the classroom and tell the Ss that you are going to play the dialogue and when they hear the animals mentioned they must point at them on the walls and repeat the word. Stop the dialogue And then carry on.This is a great way of activating the listening and introducing some TPR into the activity. 23 rd, 10 th, 5 th,

10 Example First listen with the books closed. Then look at the books to underline certain things,such as all the verbs or all the adjectives or all the verbs in the past and box all the verbs in the present. Example One student reads an extract from the dialogue and the other students says who said it.The second student must have their book closed.

11 4.Repetition Example She worked for 3 hours yesterday. I lived in London for 3 months. They played tennis in the park. First play the cassette and get the students to repeat the sentences Tell the students that they have to memorize the sentences Now get three pieces of card and write the following on them

12 She ……yesterday I…… monthsThey……park Invite 3 Ss to the front of the class and give them one of the cards.Tell them they are students A,B and C Now divide the class into 3 groups. Explain that you are going to pointing to one of the students holding a card and the group who are with that student must repeat the complete the sentence.
