What Will I Study?

Biology and Disease: Unit 1 5 –7 short questions plus 2 longer questions. The exam lasts 1 hour & 15 minutes This Units is worth 33..3% of the total AS mark OR 16.7% of the total A Level marks. This module is sat in January or June of the academic year.

The variety of living organisms: Unit 2 7—9 short answer questions plus 2 longer questions. The exam lasts 1 hour & 45 minutes This Units is worth 46.7% of the total AS mark OR 23.3% of the total A Level marks. This module is sat in June of the academic year and could be repeated in the following January.

Coursework Internal practical assignment: Unit 3 This practical which is designed to sharpen your investigative skills. This Unit is worth 20% of the total AS mark OR 10% of the total A Level marks.

Year two helps you build on that firm foundation and, like year one, has two academic topics plus a practical assignment.

Will it fit in With My Other Subjects? Students who take Biology often also study from a wide range of subjects, including Psychology, Sociology, PE, Chemistry, Physics, Geography Mathematics, ICT, Religion and Business Studies
