www.ngfl-cymru.org.uk NGfL CYMRU GCaD Roman Buildings - Glossary Amphitheatre - An open air venue used for performances. The Romans used amphitheatres regularly for spectator sports. Aqueduct – A structure that transports water (instead of a path, road or railway) across a gap in the landscape. Forum – An open public space in the middle of a Roman city. Temple – A building in which worship is performed.
