Earth System Science for Teachers of the Deaf 2004 Support  GLOBE DC Space Grant Laurent Clerc National Deaf Education Center  ESSTD Bristol-Myers Squibb NSF (PI: Michele Cooke, 5 year grant) DC Space Grant

Earth System Science for Teachers of the Deaf SOAR-High is a collaboration of the:  Chinook Middle School (WA)  Indiana School for the Deaf  Model Secondary School for the Deaf (DC)  Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf  North Carolina School for the Deaf  University High School (CA) Website  http://csc.gallaudet.edu/soarhigh/SHMAHOM.HTM http://csc.gallaudet.edu/soarhigh/SHMAHOM.HTM Workshop prepares teachers for collaborations in the school year. My Role: Develop ocean-related activities and interactive data visualizer tools

CALIPSO - GLOBE Cloud-Aerosol Lidar and Infrared Pathfinder Satellite Observations

Ocean Surface Environment Quickscat, Sea Surface Temperature, Stommel Basin Model

Understanding Three Dimensional Fault System Evolution link link

Bringing Deaf Students into Geoscience Research Table-top sandboxes provided for schools to validate PI’s computer models of fault development. Three in-class projects done by students to create, analyze, discuss and present scientific data to investigate active faults:  Analog modeling of fault growth  Locating faults using seismicity  Characterizing subsurface faults from ground movement Summer geology field trips for students Participation by students in the annual meeting of the Southern California Earthquake Center
