Drill Do strawberries have DNA? How do you know? What does the A in DNA stand for? Is this soluble in water? What would you expect to happen if a substance was NOT soluble in a given solvent? HW: Finish the Lab Qs, if needed

Some notes: Each group gets ONE large or TWO small strawberries. Be careful—the juice may stain. The buffer and ethanol will be on the teacher’s table. Use the YELLOW graduated cylinder for the DNA extraction buffer Use the RED/WHITE marked grad cylinder for the ethanol. For the ethanol, you will pour it into a beaker, and then into the grad cylinder. When done, throw away the cheesecloth and strawberry goo Everything else should be rinsed out thoroughly, including the plastic bag While the slurry (goo) is dripping, we will do the PCR Notes.
