1. Service Learning! By: Lindsey Marie Thompson

2. Cross Creek Elementary  An elementary school with grades 3 – 5.  There are 4 wings in the school.  There are about twelve rooms on each wing.  Each Grade has there own wing.  I volunteered to help two fourth grade teachers.

3. Recess  I helped take and watch the kids at recess.  I didn’t just watch them I played and ran around with them.

4. Weird Science  I walked with the kids to Science, which was out in a portable unit.  They rotate Science with music, PE, and other electives each week.

5. Grading  I graded and filed math worksheets over improper fractions.  The teacher taught them that an improper fraction is also called a Dolly Parton, when the top is bigger than the bottom.

6. Favorites  I know you aren’t supposed to pick favorites but this was one of my favorites, (Jonathan).  This cutie stole my heart because of his sweet and humorous personality.

7. Humane Society  I volunteered at the Humane Society in Thomasville, GA.  They take in strays, beaten pets, and drop offs.  They find pets a good home to live in.  I didn’t get to work with the animals though.  I addressed and stuffed invitations for their Annual Spring Benefit Dinner.

8. Puppy Love  A puppy and I stuffing and addressing envelopes.

9. What a great experience!  Service Learning taught me a lot and was a fun experience.  It feels good to help people out and be able to enjoy yourself at the same time.
