Keith Haring Biography
Keith Haring was born on May 4, 1958 in Reading, Pennsylvania. Haring moved to New York and studied at School of the Visual Arts, which he made connections with many artists. In 1980, Haring achieved recognition on unused, black advertising panels with chalk in subway station.

Bio Continued In April 1986, Haring opened a retail store called Pop Shop selling t-shirt, toys, posters, etc. Known for public art with social messages in hospitals, museums, city buildings, and even the Berlin Wall. Haring was diagnosed with AIDS in 1988 (31 years old) and established the Keith foundation to help fund AIDS.

Figurative-pertaining to the human figure. Lines(Elements of Art)-known as "a moving point.“ Depicting objects and symbols, and defining shapes. Unity (Principle of Design)-It is a design that ties it all together. It gives the sense that everything is consistent and belongs in the artwork.
