3. Place Value (4 th grade) Objective: SWBAT to identify, read, and write the value of numbers from ones up to the hundred thousands place. PACCSS: CC.2.1.4.B.1 Apply place-value concepts to show an understanding of multi-digit whole numbers. Bell Ringer/ Intro: Ask students if they can tell me the place value of each number for 743,982. Activities: Using the app for Splash Math for 4 th grade, students will log on and begin by establishing typing in their name. Once they have typed in their name, they will tap onto the place value icon. They will choose either Place Value up to Hundred Thousands or Read and Write numbers. After they have completed all 20 questions they will choose the other option they did not and complete the questions. I will be able to monitor the students by circling around the room and answering any questions needed. Closure: Ask students if they have any questions about skills they worked on. Assessment: Teacher observation and review of individual student data.
